Welcome to the Gort Cancer Support website. Here we intend to provide you with information and inspiration to support you and your loved ones to better manage the impact of a cancer diagnosis. We hope that, by accessing information and emotional support, you will feel empowered to deal with your illness and the impact that it has on your daily life.

The main focus of Gort Cancer Support is to assist and support anyone going through a cancer experience and well as their loved ones, from the time of diagnosis, through treatment and at any time thereafter.

The committee and volunteers of Gort Cancer Support would like to thank Colm Corless  and all who were involved  in organising the St Stephen’s Day Kilbeacanty ‘Turkey Run’ which raised an  amazing €4,110.00 for Gort Cancer Support. ‘Butterfly Group’ at Gort Cancer Support

Gort Cancer Support’s ‘Butterfly Group’ meet on the first Thursday of every month at the centre on the Ennis Road. If you have had a cancer diagnosis we provide you with the opportunity to get together, chat, relax, arrange activities and social events and to support each other. You are welcome to our next meeting on Thursday 5th May 8pm to 9.30pm.

 

Relax at Gort Cancer Support

If you have been affected by cancer and would love to take an hour out to relax, why not contact us at Gort Cancer Support? We are now offering complementary therapies all day Mondays from 10am to 7pm with our trained therapist Mary Hunt. Mary specialises in reflexology, massage and stress management. Gort Cancer Support is only a phone call away on 086 172 4500.

 

VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED

Would you like to become part of our valued team of volunteers at Gort Cancer Support? Due to our extended opening times we are currently recruiting volunteers to work at our centre in Gort. No prior experience required as training is provided. However, it helps if you are kind, caring, friendly, enthusiastic and positive. A strong sense of the importance of privacy, confidentiality and discretion is crucial at all times.

Flexible hours.

 

We also seek administrators, drivers, web designers, fundraisers & accounts/financial advisers – anyone with skills that may benefit us in any way welcome.
